What Is a P2P DEX?
A P2P DEX, or peer-to-peer decentralized exchange, is a type of cryptocurrency trading platform that allows users to trade digital assets without the need for an intermediary. Unlike traditional exchanges, which require traders to deposit funds into their accounts and rely on centralized order books to match buyers and sellers, P2P DEXs allow users to directly connect with each other in order to make trades. This eliminates the need for third parties such as brokers or custodians and provides greater privacy and security than traditional exchanges. Additionally, since there are no middlemen involved in transactions on a P2P DEX, fees tend to be lower than those charged by centralized exchanges.
The main benefit of using a P2P DEX is its decentralization; it does not rely on any single entity or organization for its operation. Instead, all data related to trades is stored across multiple nodes distributed around the world. This makes it much more difficult for hackers or malicious actors to gain access and manipulate user information compared with centralized platforms where all data is held in one place. Furthermore, because these networks are open source they can be easily audited by anyone who wishes too ensuring transparency within the system at all times.
