What Is Malware?
Malware is a type of malicious software that is designed to damage or disrupt computer systems. It can be used for various purposes, such as stealing data, disrupting services, and even destroying computers. Malware can come in many forms including viruses, worms, Trojans horses, spyware and ransomware. Viruses are the most common form of malware and they spread by attaching themselves to other programs or files on your computer system. Worms are similar to viruses but instead of attaching themselves to existing programs they create their own copies which then spread across networks without user intervention. Trojan Horses disguise themselves as legitimate applications while secretly carrying out malicious activities like downloading additional malware onto your system or allowing remote access into your machine. Spyware collects information about you without your knowledge and sends it back to its creator while ransomware encrypts all the data on a device until money is paid for its release.
It’s important to protect yourself from malware by using anti-virus software regularly and keeping up with security updates for any installed applications on your devices. Additionally you should avoid clicking suspicious links sent via email or social media messages as these could contain malicious code that will infect your system if opened. You should also be careful when downloading free software online since some may include hidden malware within them so always check reviews before installing anything new onto your device
