What Are Gems?
Gems are precious stones that have been cut and polished to enhance their beauty. They come in a variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and types. Gemstones are also graded according to clarity (how clear they appear), carat weight (the size of the stone) and color saturation (how intense the hue is). These factors determine how much a particular gemstone will cost when purchased from a jeweler or online retailer. Gems can range from very affordable prices up into thousands of dollars depending on these qualities so it’s important to do your research before buying any type of gemstone!
